Spring break has sadly come to an end

Well the hustle and bustle of the Arctic Winter Games has come to end.  Overall the games were a huge success.  We couldn’t have asked for primer conditions for the atheletes, or a better turn out to show support.  Favorite events included the halp-pipe, boardercross, big air, and moguls.  Team Alberta North was a true ambassador and welcomed all competetors vistiting our area.  Hats off to team Greenland, who was the underdog in some events (ie. never having any experience).  The team showed true spirit in the games and put their heart and effort into every moment.

On another note, Nitehawk will be hosting the annual Snowcross next weekend.  The snowcross is an event where bikes are taken through the snow on a series of jumps and turns.  Does that not sound like a riot to you?  Two differnt races will be held for the next two saturdays (March 21 and 27).  Registration fee of $50 will be in place if you wish to compete in both races.  If you are not interested in participating in both races a fee of $40 will be put in place.  Please note that these fees cover the annual cost of joining the Bikehawks Mountain Bike Club and will get you entry into all summer events as well.  You cannot race in any event unless you pay these rather unfortunate fees.  Hope to see you out here this weekend!

RBC Cup Summary

Yesterday we hosted the RBC cup. This event was hosted with the primary objective of promoting slope style snowboarding among the youth. Over 85 riders came out for this event. These riders were of all skill levels (even never evers!). We would like to thank all the parents with the snowboard club, volunteers, sponsors, and of course the riders who came out! Without you all we could not have made this event the immense success it came to be.

Come out and enjoy a nice day, the sun is bright and the trails are groomed.  We are open from 10am to 5pm tonight.  There will be a bbq running this lunch hour, serving burgers and smokies.  As well don’t foget that we will be open from 10am to 9:30pm tomorrow for Valentine’s Day.  Reserve your table in the lounge so you can enjoy a steak dinner with all of the fixings.  Family Day we will be open from 10am to 5pm.  Bring your family out to enjoy the many events Nitehawk will be putting on, there will be prizes! 

We will be open to the public during the Arctic Winter Games, come out and participate with our athletes and cheer them on.  Only 21 days remaining until the games! 

Super Saturday!

The weather comes as no surprize today, is yet another beautiful day here.  Snow has blanketed our hill to create epic snowboard and skiing conditions.  The warm weather radiates and will continue hopefully for a long time to come.  Today we are very pround to welcome Aquatera for their family day escape out to our recreation area.  This will be a chance for them to share quality time with their loved ones, friends, and coworkers.  There will be a barbeque today as well.  If your not into the whole downhill experience come out and enjoy the grilling smells of summer.  All the fixings are here so you need not worry about bringing anthing but yourself, who ever thought paradise would only be located ten minutes south of Grande Prairie?

Two Can Ski Tuesday

Come out and enjoy our fresh terrain and Groundhog day.  The snow has fallen on our slopes to create perfect skiing and snowboarding conditions; if that is not convincing enough perhaps we can sway you out to our area witht our two for one deal tonight on lift tickets.  Night skiing is the perfect chance for all ages to learn and experience the opportunity of beautiful winter night.  We are open from 5:30 to 9:30 tonight.
