Nitehawk Alpine Ski Team (NAST)

*All up-to-date Registration Fees for Nitehawk Alpine Programs can be found on their club website.

The Nitehawk Alpine Ski Team is a local kid’s ski racing club that promotes the sport of alpine skiing and competitive racing in and around the Grande Prairie area. Their club offers kids ages 4 to 16 the opportunity to develop their skiing skills, pursue competitive ski racing, and be a part of a fantastic team environment that engages them in lifelong outdoor recreation. All their members are registered with Alberta Alpine and can compete in both traditional downhill and ski cross events.

Their club is a non-profit that operates primarily out of Nitehawk Year-round Adventure Park, with additional training and competitive racing at other Northern AB ski hills. The primary goals of the Nitehawk Alpine Ski Team, in addition to producing excellent skiers, are to engage youth in our community in an active lifestyle, develop a team attitude, and guide them towards a lifetime love of alpine skiing.

NANCY GREENE PROGRAM (Recreational)

The Nancy Greene Ski League is a national program, inaugurated shortly after Nancy Greene Raine’s success at the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Winter Games. Since then, the program has been successful in introducing thousands of children to alpine skiing. Many of Canada’s top international skiers received their early training in Nancy Greene Ski League programs.

Alberta Alpine’s program for entry-level skiers four to ten years of age is the Banff Lodging Company Nancy Greene Ski League. The program introduces children to basic ski techniques and skills, basic safety rules, and teamwork. Enjoyment of the sport and the mountain environment is also emphasized. Ski races are available to Nancy Greene athletes and attendance is encouraged, but not mandatory.

HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM (Competitive)

High Performance skiers have advanced abilities and are invited to join with extra on-snow training and camps. They are encouraged to attend scheduled races and would be considered competitive athletes.
