Nitehawk’s Cold Weather Policy…and how decisions are made when extreme cold temperatures are in the forecast.
Temperature Cutoffs
- The hill may close when the “feels like” temperature reaches –30°C or colder (including windchill) at any point during operating hours.
- Lesson Programs follow a –25°C “feels like” cutoff, as many of our participants are young children. Lessons cancelled due to cold weather will be rescheduled, and for multi-week programs an additional lesson will be added at the end.
- Aquatera Tube Zone follows a -25°C “feels like” cutoff, and tickets will receive a full refund when a cold weather closure occurs. Refunds are processed online within 24–48 hours.
How & When Decisions Are Made
To help our Guests & Staff plan ahead, here’s when we make our operational decisions:
- Weekday evening operations: OPEN / CLOSE decision by 2:00 PM
- Weekend daytime operations: OPEN / CLOSE decision by 7:00 AM
We closely monitor forecasts each day and always make decisions with the safety of our guests and staff in mind.
